Nobles Vineyard, Fort Ross-Seaview

A classic Nobles Pinot Noir from a long-standing vineyard partnership with the Nobles family. On the crest of a ridge ten miles from the Pacific Ocean, sea shells can be seen in the marine sediment soils of the vineyard. Owner Marvin Nobles remembers finding marine fossils and even shark teeth as a boy, marking a time the land was lifted up from ancient sea beds to 1,200 feet. From historic Calera clone selection.

A classic Nobles Pinot Noir, the 2023 shows aromas of cranberry and pomegranate fruits accented by cola, earth, and tarragon notes. The texture is silky and evocative, medium-dry with an extended finish. 20 barrels produced. Best Now–2030.
