Fort Ross-Seaview

A classic Nobles Pinot Noir from a long-standing vineyard partnership with the Nobles family. On the crest of a ridge ten miles from the Pacific Ocean, sea shells can be seen in the marine sediment soils of the vineyard. Owner Marvin Nobles remembers finding marine fossils and even shark teeth as a boy, marking a time the land was lifted up from ancient sea beds to 1,200 feet. From historic Calera clone selection.

Dark fruit aromas of cherry and blackberry with accents of sassafras, damp earth, wood spice, and forest mushroom. Subtle notes of toasted oak support the frame. In the mouth brighter notes of citrus and cranberry elevate the delivery. Youthful and compact at release. 11 barrels produced. Best 2026–2031.
